Six Brushstrokes by Roy Lichtenstein Millenia Singapore

Six Brushtrokes

Roy Lichtenstein has carved a permanent place in the annals of contemporary art with his trademark merging of popular culture and high art. Widely regarded as a pioneer of Pop Art, he is best known for his ironic adaptation of comic book imagery, commercial art and advertisements in his paintings.

As Lichtenstein’s career expanded, so has the scale of his work into the realms of public murals and outdoor sculptures. “Six Brushstrokes” was commissioned to grace the Sculpture Plaza, Millenia Walk, and comprises six monumental aluminum sculptures, abstract representations of nature, land and seascapes that skillfully merge the Chinese calligraphic tradition with Western post-industrial themes.
